Kano Governor Denies Collecting Bribe

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has finally opened up on his series of alleged bribery video making the rounds as released by the DAILY NIGERIAN Newspaper.

The governor has however denied collecting bribe from any contractor. He said; “The allegation labeled against me are false and injurious. The video clips released by the publisher of Daily Nigerian, Mr. Jafar Jafar is aimed at tarnishing my image politically.”

“I did not collect bribe from contractors as alleged in the video clips by the publisher of the online Newspaper. Such has never happened with me and will never happen even in the future time.”

“The public should discard such allegations because it never happened. Publishers as Jafar should avoid publications that can tarnish the image of leaders. Such untruth publications was done to the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi the II and also to the former Governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau.”

For those are not quite familiar with the story, DAILY NIGERIAN Newspaper on October 14 and 15, 2018 published two videos showing Governor Ganduje allegedly receiving bribes in dollars. Also, the online newspaper’s publisher, Mr. Jaafar Jaafar had testified before the Kano State House of Assembly Committee on October 15 insisting that the videos were genuine.
