You are here to witness the Silverbird Group Men of the Year Award, how will you best describe the event?
Yes, I just came in to witness this great occasion on the invitation of the President of Silverbird Group, Mr. Ben Bruce. Silverbird Group is well known worldwide for the classic nature of event. What I have seen here today is wonderful, having the Executive Governor of Lagos State is a very good step in the right direction.
Why do you emphasize on the award given to Lagos State Governor, Barrister Raji Fashola?
Haba! Why won’t I emphasize on a governor that has not rested since he came on board working without resting. We all knew how Lagos State looked like before his government and you can see what he is doing today. Some of my business partners were in the country and they remarked that what would take some people 10-15years to achieve was achieved by Gov. Fashola in just four years. Can’t you see how Oshodi, Obalende now look like, the introduction of BRT buses, security in the road, law and order are now in place in Lagos State, that is why I said Governor Fashola is a presidential material. If he is given support and becomes Nigerian president; you will see the kind of development that will come to the nation. If he can do this with the state allocation, what will happen if he is the president. I have never seen any political office holder that is more passionate like Governor Fashola. He is a true democrat; when he was elected, many of us thought he does not have all the necessary experience to work, not knowing that he is creative and intelligent. Today, Governor Fashola has done what nobody has done in Lagos State, we talk about Baba Jakande but watch out Fashola, he will surpass the achievements of that Baba. So, if I find my way, Nigerians should beg him to serve them in that capacity.
Lately; you have not been given any responsibility to handle since this present regime came on board. Why are you not willing or it is not forthcoming?
At this stage; what else do I want, though I am ready to serve but when they are not inviting us, what do we do. I know God’s time is the best but if you watch, I have continued to contribute my own quota to the development of this country.
2015 election is around the corner, what is your plan, I mean political plan?
Like I said, God’s time is the best. On 2015, what God said would come to pass.
President Goodluck Jonathan said come 2015; women will be given fair share in his government, what is your view?
Well, he has said so, let’s wait till that time to know perhaps it’s political or not. I will support that move at least to give women their own fair share in governance, you know the nation needs women and you men, so if we are given such right, I believe the country will be better.
APC and PDP are the two major parties for 2015 election; which one would triumph between the two?
The better and more acceptable one will triumph.
