Fuji King K1 Wins City People’s Lifetime Achievement Award

Kwam 1Honestly, happiness lies in the joy of achievement, King of Fuji Olasunkanmi Wasiu Ayinde Marshal popularly known as K1 is presently basking in that euphoria.

Recently, at the 2014 edition of the City People Entertainment Awards, he was honoured with a lifetime achievement award for his contribution to the growth of the music industry in Nigeria.

The event which was held at 10 Degrees Event Centre, Oregun, Lagos, also recognised stars like Femi Kuti, Sir Shina Peters, Adewale Ayuba and many others. Other winners at the awards dedicated to DJ Jimmy Jatt’s 25years in the showbiz industry were Tiwa Savage, who emerged as the female artiste of the year, Davido, the Male Artiste of the year and Orezi, the Revelation of the year. In the English movie category, Patience Ozokwor emerged Actress of year, Mike Ezuronye was Actor of the year. Odunlade Adekola got Best Yoruba Actor, Eniola Badmus emerged the Best Yoruba Actress, Okiki Films was the best Yoruba movies marketer, and Lizzy Anjorin was Yoruba movie personality. Best actress in Ghana, went to Juliet Ibrahim, while best actor was Frank Artus. Ghana male Musician of the year was Edem, and female musician was Efya.

From Kannywood, Ali Nuhu took home Actor of the year, Actress of the year was Aisha Aliyu Tsymiya.

Meanwhile, the Fuji maestro has taken a lead role in a yet to be released epic movie titled ‘Eko; ‘The Blessing of Olofin’. We gathered that the 500-cast movie is produced by Fola Onifade and was shot in Ifo and Badagry. The movie which featured the likes of Bukky Wright, Jide Kosoko, Iya Awero, Leye Adeshile Orisha Bunmi, Yemi Blaq and many other stars, will soon hit the cinemas.
