Fidelity Bank Plc. has denied ordering security guards to beat up its customers at one of its branches at Alagbado area of Lagos on Thursday, August 9th, 2018.
The bank in a statement signed by Charles Aigbe, General Manager, Corporate Communications, said; “Following the unfortunate incident on the video currently in circulation…we have obtained the attached CCTV footage at the ATM area which captures the full incident.”
“As can be seen in the footage, a security personnel observed the boys shoulder surfing and upon his inquiry, they attacked him twice, leaving him with a bleeding eye before the intervention of the police.”
“Whilst reiterating that no official of the bank ordered the assault as alleged, we do hereby state categorically that Fidelity bank does not encourage any form of violence.”
“As a responsible corporate citizen, we assure all stakeholders that we will continue to emphasise the safety of all as investigations on this matter by the police continue. We thank all our customers and stakeholders who have reached out to us in the wake of this.”
