Femi Otedola, the chairman of Zenon Oil and one of Nigeria’s billionaire, has always enjoyed a robust relationship with the media.

Over the years, this oil magnate has graced the covers of many national newspapers and magazines, particularly for his humanitarian services.

However, what has been under-reported in the media about this Epe, Lagos State born oil magnate is his love for visual arts. He is said to have acquired some very expensive pieces of art works across the world in the past years.

Contrary to the thinking in some quarters, this is, however, not a new found love as he had always been attracted to art works even before he joined the millionaires’ club. Evidence of his abiding love for arts could be seen on his late father’s Impact Press located on Randle Avenue, Lagos in the late 80’s. But for his busy business schedule, Otedola would have been spending more time visiting art galleries.

Apart from being the biggest diesel and kerosene marketer in Nigeria today, he is said to be the biggest ship owner in the country, which partly explains his nomination as President of Nigeria Chambers of Shipping, a powerful and highly influential body in the maritime sector.

Otedola, also the owner of Atlas Shipping Agency, Swift Insurance, FO Properties Limited, FO Transport and Seaforce Shipping Company Limited, bought 100 brand new DAF trucks from the Netherlands to strengthen his distribution arm. Today, Zenon Oil now boasts a total diesel storage capacity of more than 147,000 metric tonnes, making it the biggest depot owner with the largest single storage capacity in the country.
