These are the best of times for popular Disk Jockey, DJ Spinall (Sodamola Oluseye Desmond) also known as TheCAP as he has now signed a major international record deal with a music label, Atlantic Record in the United Kingdom.
The ‘scratch’ maestro who could not hold his joy has immediately taken to his Instagram page to share the good news… “God is great!!! Another great step forward! Thank you atlanticrecordsuk for sharing the vision and shout out my team for the great work!! Today is a good day.”
It is interesting to know that the multiple award-winning DJ Spinall is the first Nigerian DJ to be endorsed by any brand in Africa and the first African DJ to tour in the United States. He is also the first African DJ to perform at the SXSW Festival in the United States.
He started calling himself Spinall in 2003 before he was signed to Mavin Records in 2013 which he is no longer under. Spinall just as the name implies signifies a disc jockey who plays all kinds of genre of music, he is not restricted to any specific genre, his style of play has been tagged by many as ‘fearless’ as a result of his ability to bring all kinds of music in one playlist, these differentiates him from others and has won him several awards.
For those who don’t know his AKA, “TheCAP” means; The Crazy Azz Party and not the cap on his head as most people think.
