Nigerian pop star, Davido (David Adeleke) has been arrested by the police over the death of his close friend, Tagbo Umeike.

During investigation, Davido reportedly told investigative team at Lion Building police division, Lagos Island, that he was not at Shisha bar, from where the deceased was rushed and dumped at the Lagos Island General Hospital mortuary.

Davido in his statement also said that he had left the bar for DNA night club in Victoria Island, Lagos from where he was informed about Tagbo’s death.

But when briefing journalists on the update of the investigation, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Imohimi Edgal, disclosed that preliminary investigation showed that late Umeike was rushed to the hospital on Davido’s instruction. The Police boss added that autopsy report revealed that Tagbo died of suffocation.

Interestingly, star actress, Caroline Danjuma before now had posted via Instagram, accusing Davido of dumping Tagbo’s corpse at the General Hospital, Lagos, after he allegedly died in his (Davido’s) car; “Davido where is Tagbo? He was with you and your crew last night. You all wore fez caps to hide your identities after he died in your car. You dumped him at the general hospital and ran away…the law must play its role this time…you all better provide Tagbo alive.@davidoofficial.”

This is not an ordinary boy that you can intimidate his family…we need you to tell us how he died in your car and why you ran away. The police and the hospital confirmed that you all ran away. If you think your money can save you, you just met your match.”
