Dakolo In Old School Inspired ‘Iyawo Mi ‘

Timi DakoloNigeria’s King of Soul, Timi Dakolo has teamed up with awards winning director, Clarence Peter to deliver the official video for his hit song “Iyawo Mi” off his upcoming album Love and Consequences.

The 1970s inspired video was shot in Ogun State with a vintage Mercedes car, time appropriate costumes, makeup and other props. The video shows the journey of a newlywed couple; played by Timi Dakolo and his wife, Busola through good and difficult times.

Dakolo expresses his joy thus: “I’m really proud of this video. I have always wanted to do a vintage video that is fun-filled and features my wife, because the song, Iyawo Mi was inspired by her. So it was just right that she played a part in it. We had an awesome time.”

For starters, Timi Dakolo is an award winning R&B/Soul music artist. The Bayelsa born crooner grew up in Port-Harcourt, where he started his singing career at the age of 12, in his church choir.

Following his win as West African Idol first and only winner; he released his debut album titled”Beautiful Noise” in 2012, with rave reviews and chart successes. His next single, titled “Great Nation” has been described as the new National Anthem of Nigeria.
