That famous musician cum actor, Banky W, (Bankole Wellington) has declared his intention to contest for the forthcoming election on the platform of Modern Democratic Party (MDP) to represent Eti-Osa Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Assembly is an established fact.
It is interesting to know that the musician’s political ambition has caught the attention of some meaningful Nigerians who have decided to throw their weight behind him by giving him every necessary supports he would require to succeed in his new career.
Elated Banky W has now taken to his Instagram page to announce how he received a boost from a supporter, he wrote: “Breaking news!!! Shortly after we made the announcement about our intention to run for the EtiOsa #Houseofrepresentatives, a very kind businessman was moved by the message so much that he called and offered to rent office space for us in Victoria Island for use as our campaign headquarters!!!”
“Like joke like play, he has delivered and I am completely blown away and grateful!! This is amazing. The location is so central in VI and I’d never have been able to pay for it, but look at God!!! We may not have money but we have a message and a mission.. and people are buying into it.”
“Our first volunteers-only meeting will be tomorrow at 6pm, in this same office. We have 113 volunteers that have signed up thus far, but we are looking for at least 5,000. We need people to go door to door with us, people to help with fund raising, people who will train as party agents, others who will help with community building and charity outreaches.. and so much more.”
“We also need help furnishing the office, setting up our call center, putting in WiFi, etc. We need vehicles and branded material. The list is long but I’m encouraged.”
