That Dr. Muiz Banire has been confirmed by the Senate as the new Board Chairman of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) is an established fact.

The Senate on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 confirmed the appointment of Mr. Banire Muiz Adeyemi as Chairman, Governing Board of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

This is consequent to the consideration of the report of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions which screened Banire for confirmation.

Chairman of the committee, Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim, presented the report which recommended the confirmation of Banire as nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Senate said that the confirmation was in compliance with Section 10(1) of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) Act, 2010.
