The former Director General of Security and Exchange Commission, Arunma Oteh is known to be one of Nigeria’s most influential women. Having prominently played big in Nigeria’s corporate sector, she has emerged as one of the nation’s topmost omen, whose friendship and association was coveted by the high and mighty.

With the end of her career as the Director-General  of SEC, Arunma has re-evaluated her values and is beginning to open her heart to the conventional Nigerian world which she has not been a part of in decades.

Recently, Arunma substituted winning and dining in high octane hotels with Nigerian’s high and mighty, for a day out in the sun with the internally displaced in Abuja, Nigeria. Rather than host Nigerian business moguls to a flamboyant birthday shindig, bearing gifts in hand, food, drinks and a birthday cake she marked another year with the less privileged and internally displaced in Abuja. In the years past, Nigerians of means and clout would have taken pages of national dailies to pay homage and write eulogies about the woman whose tenure was dogged with many controversies.

Oteh was treasurer at the African Development Bank (AfDB) and is remembered for her desire and faithful implementation of a therapy of reform measures to retransform the Nigerian market into world class market.
