Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State is in hot soup as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday, August 8th, 2018 froze “all bank accounts” owned by the state government.
Charles Udoh, Commissioner for Information, Akwa Ibom State said that the state authorities only learnt of the development today, and there were no prior indications from the anti-graft agency.
Mr. Udoh said more information would be provided to Nigerians about the development shortly.
Interestingly, ex-Governor Godswill Akpabio of the state and now a senator defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) today in Akwa Ibom State.
