Akwa Ibom State Government state has taken it campaign for agricultural revolution to faith based organisations and churches by calling on religious leaders to prevail on their members to embrace Agriculture for all – round development and sustainability.

Gov. Udom Emmanuel stated this while addressing leaders of religious organisations during a special prayer summit organised by the Dakada Ministers Forum at Le- Meridien Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort, Uyo.

“Churches must rise to create jobs as the Days of manas have long past and the time is now for all to diversify into aggressive farming to ensure food sufficiency rather than dwell on the blame game”.

“God knew that a time like this would come and has been benevolent to Akwa Ibom by blessing the state with rich natural endowment and human potentials which attest to the fact that right attitude and creative skills are needed to harness the natural resource for employment generation and wealth creation.” The Governor stated.

Mr Emmanuel said he has contacted a German firm to partner the state in the out-growers scheme to buy produce at international price index and urged the people to go into cooperatives to enable them benefit from the scheme.

He announced plans to import the best variety of corn seedling to replace the old seedlings saying that a United States based firm, Musanto will carry out the shipment and that the variety has more starch which would enable pharmaceutical firms to use it in their productions and thanked the ministers for their spiritual support to the state.

In an exhortation Rev. Ntia Ntia of Full Life Christian Centre, Uyo said that God raises Men at all seasons to salvage humanity from various economic challenges.

In a sermon anchored on “Preserving a posterity in the Land” taken from the book of Genesis Chapter 45 verses 7, the cleric noted that God positioned Joseph to salvage Egypt and Israel from famine by exposing him to various travails which included a slave boy where he got his skill as a manager of Portiphars investment, later the Prisons saga where he interpreted dreams and his emergence as the man who had the solution for the economic situation of Egypt and a Prime minister in Pharaoh’s court.

He thanked God for giving Govnor Emmanuel the ability to salvage the economy of Akwa Ibom state.

The coordinator of the programme Bishop Emma Isong said that they had to tarry in prayers for divine intervention in the affairs of the state and that he thanked God for Governor Udom Emmanuel and his initiative to attract investors to the state.

He said the prayers of God’s servant was very impactful and inspiring and that Akwa Ibom will flourish in prosperity.

Prayers were offered the state, Christendom, Governor Udom Emmanuel and his Cabinet.
